the 'Cuse is in the house

The scoreboards say it all. 8 periods, 6 overtimes and the 'Cuse are victorious over Big East rivals UConn. It was an amazing game. By the end Syracuse was playing 'walk-on' players as the starters had fouled out. Point guard Johnny Flynn played 67 of the 70 minutes. As the 5th overtime ended in a tie, some players just fell to the ground in exhaustion. It ran late into the early morning and Bill only got about 5 hours sleep because of his prayer group this morning. But it was so glorious to watch.Devendorf fouled out in like the 3rd overtime or the 4th--despite being tired, he's still got one amazing ridiculous vertical jump
this guy Thomas I think is a walk on who had to play at the end
Leo Rautins was an late 70s/early 80s basketball star at Syracuse and now his son plays and is awesome. Leo used to bring him into our ice cream store on his shoulders. The combination of the two of them was too tall for the entry way to the store so Leo always had to duck to get them in. It is fun to see him all grown up, with his dad in the stands, hitting 3 pointers during this historic win.

Syracuse has notoriously horrible winters; snow upon snow, gray sky and more gray sky but we have plenty to cheer about because we got a huge warm white topped dome which serves beer, Jimmy Boeheim, some college guys throwing the ball through a hoop and someone dressed up like an orange with blue legs named Otto which combined will brighten up even the most dismal of Syracuse winter days.

This win was one for the record books and will talked about whenever Big East basketball is in the conversation.

Wore my bright orange 'cuse shirt into work yesterday. It was a good day to wear orange.
